International chess tournament from Dec 25

DAMAK:
An international open chess tournament is to kick off at Damak in Jhapa from December 25. The local Dhrubatara Sporting Club gave information about this at a news conference here on Tuesday. According to club secretary Chandra Khatri, 120 players from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Singapore and America are confirmed to participate in a five-day tournament.
Players winning first, second and third positions in the tournament will bag Rs. 32,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 along with medals and certificates, respectively, President of Jhapa District Chess Association Durgadutta Bista said. Similarly, three women players winning the ‘best players title’ will receive a cash prize, said the organizers.  Last year also, the Club had organized the chess tournament in the town.
