SAPTARI: The Indian side has tried to encroach land in the Dasgaja border area in Saptari district in an attempt to tarnish the harmonious relations between Nepal and India existing for centuries.

The Indian side has been   uprooting the pillars in the border and encroaching land, and no initiative has been made to stop it from Nepali side.

The Indian side has uprooted the Border Pillar No. 223/13 in the Tilathi area, said locals.

Earlier, the Indian side had built dam to stop the river flow unilaterally and locals were terrorized of inundation of most of the Saptari villages and had demanded to stop the works going on against the Nepal-India agreement and international norms.

Local administration has not shown any concern, said the local intellectuals. The Indian side also farmed in Nepali land and harvested, said Dev Narayan Yadav of Tilathi -5.

Nepal government has not make a move for solution, said senior journalist of Saptari Shivahari Bhattarai.

CDO Krishna Chandra Ghimire, on the other hand, said Indian side has said it will discuss it after harvesting the crop this year, and that he will talk about this with the higher bodies. RSS
