Incessant rainfall causes heavy damage in Nepal, 19 dead, 8 missing, 13 injured

KATHMANDU: Incessant rainfall that started three days ago has wreaked chaos across the nation.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 19 people have lost lives, including 3 at Mulpani in Kathmandu, while 8 others have gone missing till Friday evening owing to the landslides, floods and inundation.

Some 13 people have been injured due to landslides in different places.

Inundation also occured in the Kathmandu valley in places like Kalanki, Kulesor, parts of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

Meanwhile, two persons have died while two others have been injured due to landslide in Banepa of Kavrepalanchowk district.

According to our correspondent, Madhusudan Timalsina, landslide at Chunatal, Banepa municipality-3, Kavrepalanchowk, on Friday morning at 10:40 am buried a house and killed Goma Dangal, 60, and her 7-year-old granddaughter Suhabi Dangal. Injured Shushila Dangal, 30, and 3-year-old child Anuska Dangal have been taken to Shir Memorial Hospital in Banepa for treatment.
