Imadol tense after locals retaliate band enforcers
KATHMANDU: Tensions soared high in Imadol area of lalitpur district on Monday after locals and band enforcers clashed for and against enforcing band in the area.
Locals retaliated with the band enforcers claiming that they did not supported unitary-ethnic-federalism leaving 11 persons from boths sides injured.
Large number of security personals were mobilized in the area to contain the situation. The injureds were ferried to the B&B Hospital for treatment.
Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN), Broader Madheshi Front (BMF) and other ethnic and indigenous nationalities groups had launched joint agitation across the nation demanding unitary-identity-ethnic federalism across the nation since Sunday.
Marketplaces, factories, educational institutions, offices and public transport service remained affected. Continuous shutdowns have triggered a shortage of essential foodstuffs and medicines in various parts of the country while the people in need of medical attention and different state services have been deprived, largely due to the stalled transportation.
