Ilam municipality to provide milk to underprivileged children

MANGALBARE: The Ilam Municipality has brought a programme of providing milk as the New Year 2069 BS gift to the local children.

However, the programme would come into effect from coming July 16, under which the children in community schools and child development centres, the underprivileged children sheltered at the Rahasal Orphanage and the Bal Mandir, Ilam will be supplied milk.

Under this programme, every eligible child will be provided 200 millilitres milk at 1 p.m. every day.

According to the Ilam Municipality, this programme has been brought with the objective of encouraging parents to enroll their kids in child care homes in the town and of providing social security to the underprivileged and the differently able children at the various orphanages and child care homes there.

The Municipality expects this scheme will create a demand for milk worth over four hundred thousand rupees per annum in the town which, in turn, will indirectly help generate employment among the local dairy farmers. It will also act as a motivating factor for the children to go to school. RSS
