Hundreds of families without land ownership papers

Tanahun, March 27: Some 800 families at Khairenitar-9 in Tanahun district do not have land-ownership certificates. This information was shared in a news conference organised by the Unplanned Land Problem Resolution and Action Committee here on Monday.

These families that have been living at the place since 30 years have approached the district administration, the land revenue office and even the minister for land reforms to acquire the land-ownership certificates, but to no avail.

Ironically, it is said some people living at the place and who have good connection to political power centres have got the land-ownership documents. But these families do not have the land-ownership certificates even to this day.

Committee president, Tej Bahadur Gurung said they will launch protest if the concerned quarters do not take measures to provide them with the land-ownership certificates within 15 days. RSS
