Broader Madheshi Front obstructs House session

KATHMANDU: The budget session of the Legislative Parliament has been differed until 3 pm Saturday after Upendra Yadav led Broader Madheshi Front obstructed it soon after it resumed the session in the evening.

Before it was called off Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang read out a letter from the President at the beginning of the session calling for resuming the session at the request of Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.

The session was expected to amend that Interim Consitution so as to curtail regular constitution drafting process and pave way for the timely promulgation of the new constitution.

The government has registered the amendment bill at the Parliament Secretariat earlier.
