High Court issues interim order to stop the construction of Mutani Irrigation Project 

SAPTARI: The High Court Rajbiraj on Sunday has issued an interim order not to construct and repair Mutani River Irrigation Project Belhi Chapena under Rajgadh rural municipality of Saptari.
A single bench of Justice Narayan Prasad Pokharel issued the interim order acting on a writ registered against rural municipality chair Parmananda Yadav, vice-chair Pushpa Mala Devi Mandal, division chief of water resource and irrigation development division office, Saptari Ram Kumar Khang and user committee chair Raj Kumar Saha.
Ward Chairperson Hem Nrayan Saha had registered the writ claiming the user committee formed in the meeting presided over by vice-chair Pushpamala Devi without informing ward chairpersons was illegal.
It may be noted that the Local Government Operation Act-2074 BS has authorized ward offices to form the users committee for the execution of projects within the ward and monitor the progress.
