Health of Paras improving slowly; Former King Gyanendra

BANGKOK: Former King Gyanendra Shah has informed that health condition of former Crown Prince Paras Shah is improving slowly.

Talking to well wishers, after meeting with the doctors involved in the treatment of ailing former crown prince, the deposed King informed that the health condition of his son is improving gradually and thanked them for their concern about his son.

Hundreds of Nepalis residing in Bangkok and surrounding cities thronged the Samitivej Hospital to meet former king Gyanendra Shah‚ who arrived in the hospital to discuss about further medication of Paras. Shah has been in critical care in the hospital for the last 11 days.

The former king held meeting with doctors on Friday for about an hour.  Gyanendra Shah visited the hospital with former queen Komal Shah and three grandchildren – Paras’s son Hridayendra and daughters Poornika and Kritika. Himani Shah‚ Prerana Shah and other former royal family members were also present in the hospital.

According to sources, although Paras’ health situation has improved to some extent‚ he is still critical but stable. His body temperature and pulse rate has increased.

Paras was admitted to the hospital on February 19‚ following a major heart attack. With no significant improvement in his health‚ he has been kept on CCU ventilator at ICU unit since he blacked out.
