Hailstorm kills four in Bajura, scores injured,

BAJURA: Four people were killed and as many were seriously injured when a storm lashed a village in Bajura district last night. As per preliminary estimates the storm has resulted in massive damage of property. Ten houses have been damaged by the storm accompanied by hailstone. Those killed in the incident are 60-year-old Sukili Sarki, her grand-daughter Karisma Sarki, 14, Lokraj Karki, 12 and three-year-old Dipendra Karki of Bandhu-9.

Those injured in the incident are 35-year-old Reukala Karki, her daughter Muni Karki, 18, his son Dharma Karki, 2, and Rana Karki, 84 from the same village. The injured are being treated at local health post.

Nepal Police and Nepal Army personnel and locals are carrying out rescue. The storm has also damaged the local primary health post and medicines stored there.
Details on the extent of damage caused by the storm are still awaited, the District Police Office stated. RSS
