Groupism behind waning NC: General Secretary Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Dr Sashank Koirala has said once the party emerged stronger, none could belittle it.
During a programme organized by Sushil Koirala Socialist Youth Circle here Tuesday, General Secretary Koirala pointed out the need of internal unity to strengthen the party. For it, groupism must come to an end, he argued.
Central members Gururaj Ghimire and Shankar Bhandari said the government was making prelude to authoritarianism. NC needs strength to counter it, they underscored.
Various other speakers including Chairman of Nepal Students’ Union, Nainsingh Mahar, Vice-Chair Urmila Thapaliya and General Secretary Anand Tripathi said NC was enfeebled with groupism. So, the leaders must rise above their interests, they added.
