Greenery promotion through ‘one house, one tree’ campaign

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Forest and Environment has begun the execution of ‘Nepal Clean Environment Mega Campaign-2075’ with a policy for pollution control, waste management and greenery promotion.
At a function organized here today on the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli administered the commitment as oath by inaugurating the implementation.
The mega campaign has set an objective to promote greenery in open space of the city in a way that people across the country can realize pollution control and management of sanitation and waste.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet said the objective of the campaign is to ensure effective management of solid wastes, prevent pollution and keep cities including Kathmandu neat and clean and promote greenery across the country by planting saplings.
