Govt in NC leadership essential to end status quo

KATHMANDU: President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala has claimed that the NC would lead the next government. Speaking at a programme organized on the occasion of 30th BP Memorial Day here on Sunday, the NC President claimed that NC-led government had become essential to bring peace and good governance in the country.

“NC’s leadership is to bring peace and harmony in the country and not just for power,” the NC leader said.

He said that there was no meaning of a consensus until the Maoists were honest to peaceful politics. Koirala said the fate of the Maoists would be like that of the former king Gyanendra Shah if they failed to adapt themselves to democracy.

Likewise, NC General Secretary Krishna Sitaula said time has come to take a concrete decision for nation building.

He said that the Maoists act to try running the country through ordinances was unfortunate. RSS
