Government pushing consensus environment: Minister
KATHMANDU: Three ministers of the Dr. Baburam Bhattarai-led government has said that the incumbent government has turned to be a caretaker one but is facilitating an environment for consensus
Speaking at the Reporters Club Nepal on Friday, Minister for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Yeknath Dhakal said that the present government is not the obstacle rather the facilitator for consensus.
Minister Dhakal further said that the immediate announcement of elections on May 27 was a must to avert the imminent critical situation, stressing that the democratic and nationalist forces should come together to give outlet to the constitutional complexity surfaced in the country.
Minister for Land Reforms and Management Chandra Dev Joshi said that the constitutional complication should be settled based on consensus among parties as the Interim Constitution of Nepal has not specified anything as to what type of elections is to hold in the country.
Likewise, Minister for Women and Children Pradeep Neupane said that the current political crisis should be averted through roundtable discussion. RSS
