Germany based Nepalese entrepreneur Panta announces his candidacy for NRNA president
KATHMANDU: Germany based Nepalese entrepreneur Kumar Panta has formally announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) 2019-2021 term. Organizing a press conference in the Capital Panta announced his candidacy and claimed that he will be the president of the organization unopposed.
Elaborating his proposed working plan, Panta said, ‘NRNA, strengthening safe migration and foreign employment, and reinforcing the demands for dual citizenship for Nepali diaspora to promote inflow of capital and know-how to Nepal would be his priorities.’
‘I want to announce my candidacy for the post of president of NRNA’s International Coordination Council (ICC) in the coming general convention to raise the issues of the Nepali diaspora, specially focusing on investment promotion in Nepal from abroad,’ Panta added.
Panta, who migrated to Germany from Nepal two decades ago, has been serving as the Regional coordinator, General secretary and ICC Vice president since the inception of NRNA. He became active for establishment of Europe region of NRNA after the NRNA conference of 2005.
He also informed that he will try to focus the organization for the benefit of all NRNAs and added that he will not allow political interference in the organization. He future elaborated that we will be able to provide employment opportunities to youths in the country by bringing foreign investment in the country. He further added that he will concentrate on philanthropic activities and promoting investment in the country.
Panta has been working at regional coordinator of Joint Investment Task-force of NRNAs, which was established in 2011. He has been actively working to bring investment of NRNAs in different projects in Nepal and aboard. The next international convention of NRNA is taking place in Kathmandu on 15th-16th October, 2019. However it is said that Panta’s role is very important for the welfare of Nepali immigrant workers and Global Nepali diaspora.
Vice President of Non Residential Nepali Association (NRNA), Kul Aacharya is also contesting for the president of NRNA ICC. Middle East based NRNA Activist Narendra Bhat has been saying that Panta is the best candidate for the position to integrate and unite Global Nepali Diaspora.
There is a demand of electing Panta for the top post of the NRNA as he left the position while making consensus in the names of Bhaban Bhatta for the benefit of the organization’s unity. Chairperson of the apex body of NRNA is being selected and elected through consensus and voting since its establishment.
