GBoWR holder Apa Sherpa felicitated

Dolpa (Dunai), Mar. 29: World record holding climber Apa Sherpa was given a civic felicitation at Dunai, the district headquarters of Dolpa, today.


Sherpa, who is the 21st times climber of world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, had arrived here in connection with his 1,700 km long journey from Kanchenjunga of Taplejung in the east to Darchula in the west under the Great Himalayan Trail for the promotion of sustainable mountain tourism of Nepal.

Sherpa and two times Everest climber Stephen Dawa Sherpa were honored with khada by CA Member Dudhkumari Hamal, CDO Tek Bahadur KC and representatives of various political parties, and social workers, and was taken round the town.


They have already completed 1,100 kms of the travel in 75 days, and will head towards Jumla via Phoksundo Lake tomorrow. RSS
