Gautambuddha Int’l airport to be operative by 2019

KATHMANDU: Minister for Tourism, Rabindra Adhikari, has said preparations were underway to bring the Gautambuddha international airport of Bhairahawa into operation by 2019.
During an interaction organized at Reporter’s Club in the capital city Sunday, Minister Adhikari said, “It’s a good news the government has solved every problem emerged on accelerating the construction of the airport.”
Similarly, he informed that the government was effortful to operate the Tribhuvan International Airport round the clock.
According to him, the ministry he was leading was preparing a 100-day action plan with short and long term plans and brings in 5 million tourists in five years.
Within five years, 80 percent of the structures demolished by the earthquake would be reconstructed within five years.
In view of the Nepal Visit Year 2020, the reconstruction of the international airports in Bhairahawa and Pokhara would be accelerated as a campaign, he underscored.
