Four killed, Eight injured in explosion in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Four persons were killed and Eight others were injured in a cooking gas cylinder blasts that took place at two different places in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu today.
The explosions have taken place at Dhalanepool of Sukedhara and Ghattekulo at around 5:00 pm today, said Chief of Metropolitan Police Office, Shailesh Thapa Chhetri.
According to Nepal Police spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General Bishwa Raj Pokharel, some injured are in critical condition and have been rushed to hospital.
Nepal Police said “Death of Four persons have been confirmed but identities of them are yet to be ascertained. The explosion has taken place at a saloon in Sukedhara and a house at Ghattekulo, said police.
One dead has been identified as Prajwal Shahi and one injured has been identified as Rabin KC in the Ghattekulo explosion.
Other three injured in the explosion at Sukedhara identified as Hari Khadka of Kapan, Kathmandu, Surendra Maharjan of Budhanilkantha and Chhotu Thakur of Mahottari are undergoing treatment at Om Hospital. The identity of the two of the injured is yet to be known.
Further details of the incidents are awaited. Police have now been mobilized at the incident sites.
