Forest fires decrease in Rukum
RUKUM: Incidents of forest fires have decreased in Rukum district this year as compared to last year. The District Forest Office, Rukum stated incidents of forest fires have decreased by 15 per cent in the district this year in comparison to the previous year.
There were 11 forest fires reported in different Village Development Committees (VDCs) of the district last year whereas wild fires have been so far reported in only two places this year.
It is believed that the decrease in wild fires is due to the growing public awareness on hazards of forest fire. RSS
