Five killed in jeep accident in Sindhuli

SINDHULI: Five people were killed and nine others sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep met with an accident at Chandibhanjyang of Fikkal rural municipality-2 here today.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as 55-year-old Tila Maya Bishwakarma, 65-year-old Kunman Tamang, 35-year-old Shanti Maya Shrestha, 45-year-old Laxmi Bishwakarma and 26-year-old Anita Mahat of Fikkal-2, Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office, Lok Drashan Thapa, said.

According to DSP Thapa, the jeep driver Man Bahadur Sunuwar and 34-year-old Deepak Kumar Sunuwar of Fikkal rural municipality have been seriously injured in the mishap. They, along with two others critically injured people have been sent to Dhulikhel hospital for treatment. The rest of the injured are being treated in the district itself.

Police said the accident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The jeep had veered off the road and fell 200 metres down. It was going towards Sindhuli from Mahadevdanda of Fikkal at the time of the accident.
