Five detained in accusation of slaughtering ox

CHITWAN: Police arrested five persons in accusation for slaughtering an ox from Madi area of Chitwan on Thursday.

A slaughtered ox was found at Sisaughari area near Chitpur of Madi and as the police made inquiries and followed the trail it led to the information of the killing. The police detained the five youths on basis of the information.

Sunita Nepali, Sagar Nepali, 16, Shiva Nepali, 19, Jivan Nepali, 25, and Kopila Nepali, 45, have been arrested in connection to the killing, Chitwan Police Chief, Superintendent of Police, Basanta Kunwar said.

The youths have been brought to the District Police Office, Chitwan for further investigation. They will be tried under the Cow Slaughter Act, according to police.
