KATHMANDU: A dead body of Ashok Rai, a local of Sapteswor, Khotang, who lost his life in Saudi Arab two months ago, has not been brought back to Nepal due to financial cause.

We are unable to return the corpse for not being able to send money required to bring back the dead body, said nephew of the deceased, Gopal Rai.

The Saudi government had demanded 10,000 Real with the family of the deceased through Nepali Embassy and Employment Promotion Board for the dispatch of dead body.

It has been difficult to take step ahead when low-income Rai family could not afford the huge amount for the return of dead body, said Programme Coordinator at Safe Immigration Project Centre, Khotang, Bhakta Rai.

Rai, who fell unconscious at his room in the night of May 29, lost his life while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Saudi.

The Employment Promotion Board has taken initiative to return the dead body to Nepal after the family members unable to collect the money for the process, said the Centre.

The victim family consisting six members is in trouble to sustain day-to-day life with the demise of breadwinner of the family. Now the victim family members are compelled to collect donation from neighbors for life sustenance. RSS
