Fed up of splitting trend, Madheshi leaders now want single party in Madhesh
KATHMANDU: Madhes-based politicians, intellectuals, journalists and rights activists have stressed the need to form a single Madhes-centric political party in the southern plain to liberate the Madhes from ‘internal colonization’.
Speaking at a talk programme on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Tarai Madhes Student Front in the capital on Sunday, Co-chairman of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Hridayesh Tripathi said all Madhes-based parties should come together, at least, for federalism.
Unity among the Madhes-based parties for winning the battle for our rights is the call of all Madhesis not only of the TMLP, he added.
Similarly, General Secretary of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) Atma Ram Sah said that unity among Madhesi leaders was required once again, as it happened during the Madhes Movement.
Also speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Sanghiya Sadbhavana Party Anil Jha suggested that the proposal for a single party floated by the TMLP should be tabled at the meeting of the Madhesi Front. RSS
