Farwest remains closed for day 16, amneties running short

KATHMANDU: Far Western region remained closed on Saturday also. The 16 day long band, called demanding ‘undivided far west’, has taken toll on general life conditions of the region.

On Saturday, protestors vandalized the office of Backward Society Education (BASE) in Dhangadi accusing the non-governmental organization of fueling racial conflict between Tharus and Non-Tharus.

Meanwhile, preparations are afoot to bring the injurers to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Chairman of Thaurhat Party, Laxman Tharu who was injured seriously after being severely beaten down by a police inspector, has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.

Though Tharu was reffered to Kathmandu earlier, along with other victims, lack of transportational means has hundred the process.

Sources near the party claimed that the Tharu and other injurers will be taken to Nepalgunj through ambulance and airlifted to Kathmandu from there.
