Expect a growth rate of 5 percent this year: Finance Minister

BAGLUNG: Minister for Finance Barshaman Pun has claimed that country’s economic growth rate will be around five per cent this year.

Minister Pun said that economic growth rate will increase this year as per the government’s target adding that overall indexes of economy of the country has witnessed robust growth.

Inaugurating the Tax Payers’ Service Office in Baglung on Sunday, the finance minister claimed that economic situation of the country was being better than previous years.

The Finance Minister said that the progress made in peace process of late has added excitement to investors adding that the country is sure to get high economic prosperity within few decades after the promulgation of new constitution.

He stated that the government has forwarded the agendas of economic prosperity with top priority.

Minister Pun said that the government has planned to bring in foreign investment through 70 large scale projects adding that constructing Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali corridors were the top priorities of the government.

“Opening track of the East-West Pushpalal Highway has already initiated with the purposed to complete the tasks within this fiscal year. This will link economic life of Panchthar of east to Darchula of west,” said Minister Pun. RSS
