Diarrhea breaks out in Rukum

RUKUM: Diarrhea epidemic has broken out in Rukum district with the north western Ghetma VDC witnessing the first cases. Diarrhea has been traced in various VDCs with the onset of the summer season. More than 15 patients a day visit the sub-health post, says its in-charge Gopal Singh Oli.
Mostly women, elderlies and children are affected. The District Hospital has sent medicines to Ghetma and direction has been given for awareness programmes, said District Hospital Chief Dr Yadu Chandra Ghimire.
Ghimire said all health institutions have necessary medicines and efforts are on to prevent it from spreading at epidemic proportions. RSS
