Dhoni visits Prez, Maiti Nepal, Pashupatinath before returning home
KATHMANDU: Visiting Indian Cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned back home on Sunday afternoon after visiting Nepal’s President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav in morning followed by a visit to Maiti Nepal and Pashupatinath Temple.
Dhoni was in Kathmandu to participate in a program coordinated by the Indian embassy for developing Nepal’s performance in the game of cricket.
During his meeting with the President, Dhoni stressed on the importance of cricket diplomacy in South Asia and said that Indian assistance to Nepalese cricketers will play vital role in upgrading the existing excellent spirit of Nepalese players.
He expressed confidence that Nepalese cricketers had the potential to meet international cricket standards if they worked hard and were provided with necessary conditions.
After holding half-an hour meeting with the President, Dhoni had visited the Maiti Nepal in Gaushala. After observing the facility, he appreciated Koirala’s effort in combating women trafficking and expressed willingness to do whatever he can.
He has also announced to provide financial support to Maiti Nepal from his side. However he did not elaborate on the amount he intended to donate.
Thereafter Dhoni had visited Pashupatinath Temple where he offered prayers to one of the most revered deity of Hinduism. He said that he always wanted to visit Pashupatinath since his childhood and credited Pashupatinath for his success while expressing confidence that the lords wishes will be with him in the future too.
