Deuwa for accepting Maoist’s condition for the change of guard
Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuwa has said that ruling Maoist’s condition of announcing the date of election for transferring the government leadership could be acceptable to his party. “We can accept the Maoist condition if Maoist ensure that they are not going to dupe us again,” Deuwa said while speaking at a program organized by Reporters Club this morning in capital, adding, “possessing mistrust to the Maoist always would not help on forging national consensus.”
He also ruled out the possibility of agreeing on the content of the constitution before going to Constitution Election claiming that such act will amount to undermine the civilian supremacy.
“We should go for fresh polls by accepting federalism and democratic republican. Almost every parties have agreed upon federalism,” Deuwa argued, “Its not possible to go for election by striking agreement on the content of the constitution. The contentious issues could be incorporated in the election manifesto of the party while going for the election.”
