Dahal says his party is ready for talk provided that it continues from where it was left
KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas on Sunday and discussed matters relating to contemporary politics and seeking a way out to the ongoing political deadlock.
During the meeting, Chairman Dahal shared with the President that his party was ready to seek a way out of the present political crisis if efforts were made to forge a consensus from the point where the constitution making process was stalled.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, Chairman Dahal said he apprised the President of the efforts being made on his behalf for a consensus.
“Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai will resign if all matters of dispute were resolved in a package, but that should be done through a collective consensus among the political parties”, he said.
Maximum efforts are being made for a consensus and I and my party is ready to go to any extended for it, Dahal added. ‘Likewise, efforts are on to bring the budget for f/y 2012/13 on the basis of a consensus’.
At the meeting held for around 45 minutes, matters relating to the constitution making process, the discussion taking place among the parties and contemporary issues were discussed.
Stating that his party was ready to make any sacrifice for a consensus and that the disputed issues need to be resolved in a package, Chairman Dahal also called upon the Nepali Congress, the UML and other parties to prepare for the same. RSS
