Dahal denies giving up party’s demand
KATHMANDU: Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that his party would not surrender at any cost the agenda raised by the party.
Speaking at a program organized by All Nepal Women’s Association (Revolutionary) marking the 102nd International Women’s Day here on Thursday, Mr Dahal said, “We will not compromise with anyone as far as empowering the people is concerned, we would rather become martyrs.”
Stating that his party was working honestly for peace and the new constitution, the Maoist Chairman accused the Nepali Congress and the UML of creating obstacles to it by not implementing the agreements reached in the past.
The problem has always been the rigid position of the parliamentary parties of wanting only the Maoist party to compromise on everything, he said.
Though we are ready to move ahead as per the seven-point agreement on the issue of army integration, the Maoist party would not agree to devaluate the people’s liberation army.
He also charged the UML of creating new hurdles in the issue of forms of governance in the constitution making, and added that the double standard tendency of the UML stands as a problem now. RSS
