Congress to reveal PM candidate only after consensus
Nepali Congress leaders have concluded to name the candidate of Prime Minister from the party only if they become sure that the government would be formed under the leadership of the party.
According to the party General Secretary of Congress Sushil Koirala, an informal meeting of the office bearers held at the party president Sushil Koirala’s residence Maharajgunj made such decision.
The Central Working Committee meeting was scheduled to be held today to name the candidate of Prime Minister from the party. However, the meeting has been deferred until it becomes certain that the party would get leadership for the yet-to-be-formed national consensus government.
Though the party leaders say that there has been an agreement among the party office bearers to recommend the party president Koirala as the PM from the party, they wouldn’t reveal it until it become sure that the party would get the leadership opportunity in the government.
