Congress leader hold discussion with Prez, say ball is in his court
At the meeting held at the presidential palace, Sheetal Niwas, the leaders drew the attention of the president that the elections were not possible in the slated date declared by the government, and the time frame allotted by the Election Commission for amendment of necessary laws for holding elections had come to an end.
After the meeting, Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel said it was a matter to be thought over by the president himself as what would be the role of the president as the patron of the constitution for seeking solution to the present political crisis.
The country has sought political and constitutional solution, and how long it would be appropriate to keep the government in caretaker status, and it will be proper for all to thing for moving ahead by forging national consensus, said Poudel.
