Congress holding emergency meeting of central committee

KATHMANDU:
Nepali Congress is holding the emergency meeting of its Central Working Committee (CWC) today in a bid to settle the internal feuds of Nepal Students Union (NSU).

The meeting scheduled to be held at 1 PM at party headquarter Sanepa will review the failure of its sister-wing NSU, which was mandated to hold its general convention within six months. However, the sister-wings of the Congress including the NSU haven’t been able to hold its general convention for long period of time due to the internal disputes and factionalism within the unions.
Party’s Spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said the meeting was called to discuss the statutes of the sister organizations of the party and make amendments if needed.
Likewise, the meeting will also discuss upon the contemporary political issues and the agitation programs, the party had announced with other opposition parties few days earlier.
