Congress ex-lawmakers demand CA resurrection

KATHMANDU: Fifty Two former lawmakers from the Nepali Congress have demanded to resurrect the Constituent Assembly.  Speaking at a program in the capital on Sunday, they demanded that the CA should be reinstated, even for small period of time, to finalize the remaining tasks of constitution writing.

They claimed that the President can use the special constitutional rights given to him for reinstating the parliament as per political consensus.

Among others the demand was backed by Kamala Panta, Navindra Raj Joshi, Sita Gurung, Shova Kumar Parjjuli, Jeevan Prem Shrestha, Usha Gurung.

The meeting concluded to escalated demand for reinstating the CA with full force. The decision comes at a time when the government has already set the date for new CA elections and called on political parties to participate in it.
