Congress and UML upbeat after Prez’s move

Two main opposition parties, Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), have hailed the President’s move of calling the political parties to form the national consensus government. They have concluded that President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav’s such call to form national consensus government on Friday would create environment to forge much-hyped political consensus.
A joint meeting of the two main opposition parties held on Saturday at the UML party office Balkhu has welcomed the President’s move as a positive, constitutional and appreciative. Releasing a joint press statement signed by Congress President Sushil Koirala and UMl Chairperson Jhalanath Khanal, they have said that the move of the President would help on resolving the current political and constitutional deadlock.
Emerging from the meeting, UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal said the President’s call for the national consensus government was a positive one after several talks held among the parties failed to find solutions for ending the political and constitutional crisis.
