Closed session of NSU from today

KATHMANDU: The closed session of Nepal Students Union, a sister wing of the Nepali Congress, is to begin on Wednesday.

NSU Chairman Ranjit Karna informed that after the repeated dispute over the selection of representatives for the general convention, the NSU has finally decided to hold the closed session from Wednesday noon.

However, the student leaders and cadres gathered at the convention are in confusion about the closed session.

According to Karna, the direction committee formed by the party to hold the general convention is to settle the dispute on the representatives for the general convention within this night and conduct the closed session.

Committee member Gururaj Ghimire said the disputes in 11 districts have been sorted out while others are on the way towards conclusion.

The NC had formed a directive committee under the coordination of party leader, Prakash Sharan Mahat to hold the general convention on the slated date where Govinda Bhatatrai, Gururaj Ghimire, Kishor Singh Rathaur and Pradeep Poudel are members.

The NSU had booked the Bhrikutimandap hall for three days for the convention from August 7. NSU Spokesperson UP Lamichhane said that the burden of around four million rupees has been added daily as the NSU was still uncertain of its conclusion.

Students had chanted slogans at Bhrikutimandap whole day Tuesday, demanding the the closed session in time. The general convention was inaugurated on August 7.
