CIAA files cases against 10 TU Service Commission officials

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case of corruption at the Special Court against 10 officials of the Tribhuvan University (TU) Service Commission including its Chairperson on the charges of changing the marks of the candidates taking written exam for different vacancies.
Service Commission’s Chairperson Chaityanna Prasad Sharma along with its officials Chinatamadi Pokharel, Parshuram Koirala, Bacchuram Pandey, Indira Tiwari Bhantana, Teknath Dhakal, Govinda Dhakal, Rajeshwor Neupane, Tara Prakash Poudel and Ram Bahadur Pandey Chettri were allegedly involved in changing the marks to pass the candidates who took the exam for the vacancy launched by the Commission for administrative and technical posts.
The Commission had launched 16 vacancies where close relatives of Commission’s office-bearers were reported to have applied and had taken written test.
Marks were changed for the answer sheets of six candidates applying for six different posts, according to the anti-graft body. The answer sheets with the marks secured by the candidates were found scribbled in a mysterious manner.
