Chand warns another transition in the offing

BUTWAL: Politburo member of the Unified CPN (Maoist) Netra Bikram Chand has warned of a new transition in the country if the constitution was not promulgated within the May 27 deadline.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Reporters’ Club here today, he said to save the nation from the transition, the peace and constitution writing process should be concluded as per the people’s desire.

Leader Chand claimed the proposal forwarded by the government could not produce the constitution as per the expectation of the people and that is why the Central Committee meeting of his party decided to demand Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai’s resignation.

Chand, who is close to the Baiddya faction of the UCPN-Maoist, said the group announced the protest when ‘some of the leaders of his party’ were making effort to promulgate the constitution of 2047 BS adding federalism in it. RSS
