Cabinet to endorse the motion against Prez’s move

KATHMANDU:
The cabinet meeting will endorse the motion against the President’s move of Friday to call the political parties to come up with a consensual Prime Minister candidate, according to the Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai’s chief political aide Devendra Poudel. Poudel said that the President’s move has made them serious since the latter’s letter of call has been addressed to the Chief Secretary of the government by bypassing the Prime Minister, an executive head of the state. He also claimed that there isn’t any legitimate relation between the bureaucracy and the President’s office. President’s move to address the Chief Secretary is a motive of the President to assume the executive power by making relation with the bureaucracy, he said. He was speaking with the media-persons after emerging out from the emergency meeting of party general convention organizing committee held at party central office, Parisdanda, on Saturday. The meeting had condemned the President’s move terming it ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘illegal’.
The UCPN (Maoist) has also said they would retaliate the move the President took bypassing the Prime Minister.
Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) leader and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun informed media that a decision was taken to launch people’s mobilization bid against the unconstitutional move of the President.
