Brahmins demand rights in new constitution
KATHMANDU: Parsa Chapter of the Nepal Brahman Society, today, demonstrated in Birgunj demanding to guarantee their rights in the new constitution.
The Society has demonstrated putting forth its demands including to enlist Brahmin community in the list of indigenous nationalities, not to federalize the country on the basis of ethnicity and scrap the provision for all reserve quotas in the name of inclusiveness in all government bodies.
Society’s central Vice-chairman Devnath Upadhyay led the motorcycle rally and demonstration.
Upadhyay warned of second round of stern protest right after the end of the first round protest if their demands were not addressed.
The rally started from the Office of the District Development Committee, Parsa, rounded various parts of the city. RSS
