Both Maoists form joint task force to troubleshoot differences

KATHMANDU: The UCPN (Maoist) and its breakaway party, the CPN-Maoist have agreed to resolve mutual differences through the medium of dialogue.
The two parties had formed a task force a month ago after clashes erupted among the cadres of the two sides across the nation, notably taking over the ownership of the physical property of the party.

An agreement has been reached following various rounds of dialogue by the task force to move ahead based on a consensus, said UCPN (Maoist) leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

“We have agreed to bring down the differences gradually and to resolve the issue of the ownership of the party office and its physical property through a consensus”, he said.

Likewise, CPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung said the agreement reached in the task force would be discussed within the respective party.

The various rounds of deliberation held to neutralize tension between the two parties had forged a consensus, added Gurung.

The task force comprises UCPN (Maoist) leaders Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Agni Sapkota and leaders Dev Gurung and Hitman Shakya from the CPN-Maoist. RSS
