Binod Chaudhary richest person of Nepal: Forbes

KATHMANDU: The Forbes magazine, which has been publishing the list of richest people of the world, has mentioned Industrialist Binod Chaudhary as richest person of Nepal.

The United States based magazine has ranked Chaudhary in the list of 1342th richest person of the world and first richest person of Nepal.

The magazine informed that Chaudhary, who is the owner of Nabil Bank and Wai Wai Noodles, has also invested in the chain of Taj Hotel. “Chaudhary is Nepal´s first billionaire but built most of his fortune overseas,” the Forbes said on its website.

“The 2013 Forbes Billionaires list now boasts 1,426 names, with an aggregate net worth of $5.4 trillion, up from $4.6 trillion. We found 210 new ten-figure fortunes. Once again the U.S. leads the list with 442 billionaires, followed by Asia-Pacific (386), Europe (366), the Americas (129) and the Middle East & Africa (103),” the magazine reported in its online edition. This is our 27th edition of Forbes Billionaires list.

After being listed as the richest person of Nepal, Chaudhary posted in his twitter account that Nepal has became aware in the global corporate world.

“We (are) humbled (and) take this as an honor for Nepal. Nepal will now be known in global corporate sector,” twitted Chaudhary, who recently published his biography.
