Bicycles donated to girls from backward communities

KATHMANDU: Some 32 girl students belonging to backward community of Banke district were provided with bicycles free of cost with a view to increasing their access to education.

Students from grade eight to ten at different schools in seven VDCs of Baghauda area across the Rapti were handed over bicycles under the Backward Community Uplift and Development Committee of the Ministry of Local Development.
Committee Vice-chairperson Bharat Prasad Mahato handed over the bicycles to the girl students.

On the occasion, Committee Director Shambhu Prasad Luitel said the programme implemented in 26 districts of the country will help bring the backward community into the mainstream of development. RSS
