Bangladesh beats Nepal by 2-0 in AFC Qualifiers

KATHMANDU: Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 2-0 in their second match of the AFC Challenge Cup Group D Qualifiers at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Monday.

The visiting team scored its first goal in the 27th minute on a penalty kick and the second goal in the 57th minute to ensure victory of the visiting team. Rony scored two goals in the 27th minute in a penalty kick and a second goal in the 57th minute.

Nepal could not take advantage of home ground and support of over 20-thousand  supporters. Nepal has been showing very poor performance in the international matches.

In the other match played today, Palestine beat the Northern Mariana Island by a huge margin of 9-0. Palestine had defeated Bangladesh 1-0 while Nepal had outplayed the NMI 6-0 in their opening matches.

Now, Nepal will take on Palestine and Bangladesh will vie against Northern Mariana Islands on Wednesday.
