Baidya turns heat on Dr unchanged
KATHMANDU: Mohan Baidya faction has turned heat on Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai to resign pronto. The allegations comprise it is showing “needless flexibility” with the “expansionists” and “imperialists” forces.
meaning India and the US. The heat turned on after a two-day meeting. The faction has come up with protest programs in streets. The faction is stepping up pressure on Prachanda to topple the government which has compromised “core” values. Demos in streets will sensitize national independence and pro-people constitution.
The factiona meeting has come to the conclusion that party leadership has failed to implement the policy of the party. However this is not likekly to hit army integration. Baidya himself has ruled this out saying
“Despite our reservations, the integration process has reached its final stage and I don’t think the process will stop now, whatever the party’s official stance.”
The faction also said it will take a tough stance on constitution drafting. The Prachanda faction has billed this as disturbing, with Haribol Gajurel discounting the fall of government.
Sources said Dahal and Bhattarai are reluctant to implement a decision taken by a January16 CC meeting that includes launching protests against the southern neighbour and border encroachment.
“We will launch a publicity campaign against foreign interference and border encroachment and demand that the Peace and Friendship Treaty be scrapped,” Baidya said.
