ANA 2016 Atlanta convention described as SUCCESS—2017 Convention in Baltimore

Purushottam Dhakal, ATLANTA, GA: The 33rd convention of the Association ​o​f ​Nepalis ​i​n ​t​he ​Americas concluded Monday morning issuing a six point Atlanta declaration.

Members of Parliament from Nepal Gagan Thapa and Rabindra Adhikari had attended the ANA jamboree held at Marriott century center in Atlanta.

Nepalis Ambassador to the United States of America Dr Arjun Karki had also participated in the convention.

Also present at the convention was Professor Jay Nishant, an eminent media person of Nepal.

Programme presenter and journalist of Nepal Bhusan Dahal was also in Atlanta to participate in the convention.

The ANA jamboree in the US Georgian capital brought together hundreds of Nepalis American, Nepalis living in Canada and well wishers.

Nepalis Envoy to the US Dr Arjun Karki and Incumbent Presidenrt of ANA Roger Adhikary had jointly inaugurated the convention.

The Atlanta convention expressed gratitude to the current ANA executive members for what it is widely believed reviving the association.

Representatives from various organizations,including NASeA, ANMA, BANA, RMFN and others were also present at the convention.

The representatives have agreed to discuss within their organizations and seek approval to be a part of a unity task force for all the organizations in the US and Canada.

The objective of the unity task force is to help all Nepal and Nepalis related organizations in North America work in a united and coordinated manners on the matters of common interest.

The convention has decided to hold next election under a three member coordination committee headed by Dr. Shailendra Shukla.

Other members of the committee are Naveen Dutt and Anil Pathak.

The convention has decided to send a football team to Nepal in 2017 to participate in a

soccer league championship in Nepal.

The ANA Atlanta jamboree has agreed to hold the 34th ANA 2017 convention in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

It has been decided that ANA executives will work closely with local community and organizations in Baltimore including BANA(Baltimore association of the Nepalis in the Americas) to prepare and host the 2017 convention and make it a success.

The ANA executive committee thanked all the participants for making the even a grand success.

The July 1-3 convention had kicked off on the July fourth weekend.
