24Hrs free electricity in two Sankhuasabha VDCs

SANKHUASABHA: At a time when the whole country was facing acute power shortage and hours of load shedding, people of Guphapokhari and Sukepokhari VDCs in Sankhuwasabha district have been provided with round the clock electricity facility for free.

This was made possible after the construction of Guphapokhari Hydropower Project with capacity of five watts with the investments of Rs 3 million by Katuri Organization. Some 50 families of the VDCs have been benefitted with the power produced from the project.

Security guard of the project, Dinesh Chandra Khanal said, “Sometimes the machines remain closed for 1/2 hours for security. Otherwise, power supply goes for 24 hours.”

Likewise, local Hima Khanal said, “The project was constructed with the interest amount received from the savings of fund that was managed from the collection of sand, pebbles and stones.” RSS
