13th SAG: Non Residential Nepali Gaurika bags second gold medal in swimming

KATHMANDU: Non Residential Nepali Gaurika Singh has brought home yet another gold medal in swimming competition held in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG).
In the 200-metre back stroke category of match held at Satdobato on Friday, Gaurika finished in 2 minute 17 seconds to win the second gold medal.
The Olympian swimmer Singh beat India’s Rajiba Manna Patel who finished in 2 minutes 27 seconds. Patel secured silver medal.
Similarly, Sri Lankan Ganga Sen secured bronze medal in the same competition.
Earlier on Tuesday, Singh had clinched gold medal in 200 metre free style category. She became the first Nepali swimmer to bag two gold medals in the SAG’s individual event in the swimming.
She will compete in six more swimming matches to be held under different categories in the SAG that will go through December 10.
