13th SAG: Nepal defeats Sri Lanka 29-19 in handball

KATHMANDU: Nepal made a strong opening in handball by beating Sri Lanka 29-19 in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Pokhara.
The match was played at the multipurpose covered hall at the Pokhara Stadium. For Nepal, Uma Rai scored highest eight goals followed by Kabita Rai hitting six goals.
Uma scored all goals in penalty shootouts. Likewise, Nisha Rai and Kalpana Oli scored four goals each while Captain Ranjana Rai and Durga Bohara two goals each. Bandana Rai, Shanti Kala Rai and Ram Kumari Chaudhary hit one goal each.
For Sri Lanka, Ruwani Dile scored highest seven goals. Likewise, Nade and Sash hit three goals each. Harsika Udaya and Diluksi Aim scored two goals each while Umasika and Chanik scored one goal each.
