122 Chinese nationals expelled, not allowed to enter Nepal for four years

KATHMANDU: A total of 122 Chinese nationals come in Nepal on tourist visa but involving in illegal activities, have finally been expelled- not allowing to enter Nepal for four years. Immigration Officer at Immigration Department, Pavan Gupta, informed that the Chinese arrested for illegal activities have been returned to China via plane this evening.
Police had arrested them from Manamaiju, Maharajguj and Budhanilakantha of Kathmandu on December 23. They were filed a case on indecent behaviour, to which, Chief District Officer in Kathmandu, Janak Raj Dahal, issued order to fine each Chinese national with Rs 1,000.
Following the District Administration Officer’s order, the police handed over the wrongdoers to the Immigration Department. Those living in Nepal expiring their visa term were fined Rs 2,000 each. The fine was provided by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.
The decision to expel them was made in line with Immigration Act 2049 and Immigration Regulation 2051.
